Yass River

Yass River is a rural residential project shaped by its landscape, outlook and long horizontal form. The home presents as a low contemporary building set into open country, using a restrained mix of timber cladding, dark corrugated metal, black-framed glazing and stone elements.

Broad eaves and covered deck areas create sheltered outdoor living spaces, while the raised deck and large glazed openings connect the interior directly to the surrounding paddocks and distant hills.

Inside, the kitchen, dining and living areas form a generous shared space with polished concrete floors, neutral wall finishes, warm timber joinery and carefully placed lighting. A suspended fireplace anchors the living area and gives the open plan room a clear centre.

Stone walls, gravel paths, simple planting and timber decking help the building sit comfortably within its rural setting.
